I have successfully ported an android app which uses gps to search for location services. when i had ported to bar file and opened on my playbook , it is not recognizing the gps permissions in appmanifest.xml. how can i use gps of playbook in android app . i have already put <uses permissions> for location fine , coarse etc.

Could you please clarify what you mean when you say it is not recognizing your permission?

im having a similar issue.
Despite "Entry-Point-User-Actions:: read_geolocation" being set in the Manifest.MF file, it doesnt ask for the permissions when starting the app.
The strange thing about this is, that it finds the GPS location in the app. Its just not listed under the GPS-Permissions.
Im using the newest Version of the BB10 OS, which is currently 10.1.0.2354.

If you're sideloading a BAR yourself to a PlayBook or BB10 device, you will not see a prompt for permissions.
You will see the prompt when installing the app directly from App World however.
