How to change simulator orientation to Portrait mode

Hi,

I got my android app installed on the simulator, and running.

Now I want to be able to test it in Portrait mode. I can't figure out how to get the simulator to change orientation.

TIA,

jb

Re: How to change simulator orientation to Portrait mode

There is a gesture for this in the simulator.  Start your swipe in the bottom, right corner and swipe upwards diagonally to the left.

Re: How to change simulator orientation to Portrait mode

Thanks, that does put the simulator in portrait mode, but when I started my app it didn't recognize it was in portrait mode and thought it was in landscape mode. It just not working the way it does, regarding orientation, in the android environment.

Is the simulator just a bit too immature at this point or is the conversion from Android to BB not where it should be? The screen flickers alot, and doesn't paint the screen completely.

A bit frustrating.

Re: How to change simulator orientation to Portrait mode

The flickering screen issue appears to be simulator related.  I haven't seen it on a real device and as far as I'm aware no one has reported flickering on a real BlackBerry PlayBook.

If you have a sample that reproduces the orientation problem you are seeing please upload it to Issue Tracker and we'll have a look.
