I have successfully signed my .apk file app and converted it to .bar file. I have installed the .bar file to my playbook but only after I have used an installer 'DDPB tool'. Is it necessary to use the DDPB installer to install the signed .bar file?
As far as I know there are only two ways of uploading the bars to your Playbook: eclipse and the DDPB tool. I almost always use the DDPB tool. But there is as mentioned also the eclipse plugin that can do the same for your application. The easy part there is that you don't even need to convert it to a bar file. You can just say to eclipse that it should run on your connected Playbook.
The reason why I use the DDPB tool most of the time is because the eclipse plugin is a little too buggy for me. Sometimes I can just not seem to be able to get it working, while it has worked before.
A like is always appreciated, but a nomination for BB Elite even more :-) You can also contact me on Twitter: @ndsmyter
