Native Contact Support for Android Runtime

From what I can gather from the forums it seems that as of the 10.1 release you can add contacts through the Android API that will appear in the native address book and you can add additional information to those existing contacts through the Android API.  This seems to align with what I'm seeing in my app.  However, the runtime release notes (http://developer.blackberry.com/android/documentation/bb_runtime_release_notes.html) states that:

"Edits to contact information are synchronized between theAndroid Runtime and the native BlackBerry 10 contacts app"

Does the "edits" still only mean "adding" new pieces of information? (As opposed to editing existing phone numbers, etc.)

And more importantly, are there plans to open up full access in the future? (I just need to know what to tell end users.)

Re: Native Contact Support for Android Runtime

I'd also appreciate some feedback from BlackBerry on this topic. If possible, with a hint how much do they plan to integrate, and when.
