Re: Porting google map view to web view

so close, seems simple enough, i mean i have it working, where is it failing. somewhere in the export process.

it must be a proguard issue. is there somethign i need to add to my proguard to exclude something when i use web views?

i don't see anything relavant in my servers event logs.

Re: Porting google map view to web view

Hah, well, then I guess the main thing to determine is if the page is actually getting loaded by the app. I suspect yes and that for some reason the map isn't showing. But figure out if the page loads at all (either put some plain html at the top and/or use the webview call backs that indicate the page is finished loading).

If you are using proguard (which may happen by default) then there are situations where the signed APK can behave differently and cause problems.

Re: Porting google map view to web view

ok, so i type some bogus test text at the top of my page and it does in fact show up in my app after exporting, installing on my device and running. So i have a blank white page with some bogus text. So the page is loading. The google map is bust somehow.

i'm going to try commenting out proguard.

also it seems the javascript alerts won't work as expected in a web view. i was trying to use those to test callbacks. maybe i can find a way to just dump some etxt to the html when the googel maps idle callback fires or somethign

Right, for the alerts I remember now there is some Android bug related to this: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=752

So see if getting rid of proguard helps.

Re: Porting google map view to web view

Ok, cool so it's loading the map now? That's great. Yeah I had a lot of issues with proguard in general. I edited that link so it works (had extra period).

Re: Porting google map view to web view

**bleep**e, it seems as though my app is crashing in the simulator...

the zoom controls load up on the map and i click to zoom out, and click around to interact with the map and the app just goes away and i have to reclick the desktop icon to start er up again..... doh

is there a way to get diagnostics or exception info?
