When I use the Eclipse plugin to repackage an Android app for BB, the repackager seems to start with the debug .apk file. However, I can export a signed Android .apk, which runs ProGuard and greatly reduces the .apk file size. Using the command-line or web-based tools, I can then repackage the exported .apk. The resulting .bar file is considerably smaller (often by 100KB or more for a 500KB app).
Is there any way to obtain the file size benefits of running ProGuard on the .apk and still repackage for BB from within Eclipse?
If not, are there any downstream problems from starting the repackaging process with the exported (and compressed) .apk file?
