What happens to the Android Cetificate when APK is converted to BAR?

Hello community,

I'm new to BB10, and was wondering;

What happens to the APK signature when the file is converted to BAR?

1. If the signature is stripped, then certain apps won't work -- OAuth 2.0 apps, and any app that registers an MD5 or SHA1 hash based on the original APK signature.

2. If 1 is right, then apps that use the Facebook API won't work, for example.

Am I right?  If not, please enlighten me !

TIA

Re: What happens to the Android Cetificate when APK is converted to BAR?

Hello

The certificate for the APK remains in place. This is required to be installed within the Android Runtime. When an APK is converted into a BAR file, all we are doing is placing the APK within our package format for application installation.

Hopefully that helps answer your questions.

Thanks,

Matt
