what is the status of this issue?
yes, BBM works on mobile network signals as well as WiFi, and yours should as well.

I am experiencing the same problem.
I'm on Bell. Regular data plan. Android 4.1.2. Samsung S2.
Was only able to set up BBM when I turned Wifi on. It would not connect using 3G/4G.
Turned off Wifi and was able to send/receive messages through mobile data (3G/4G).
Phone wend idle for a couple hours. Went to send a message and would not send.
I can receive email from Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo etc, and surf.
Had to connect to Wifi again and then it would send/receive.
I've checked and read all the posts regarding settings in Mobile Data, BBM etc and everything is on.
No response from BB when I reported issue.

Seeing a few threads on this issue. Can one of you try this method for uninstall/reinstall, to see if it fixes this issue with the cellular radio and BBM?
first off go to applications then
Then FORCE STOP
Then CLEAR CACHE
Then CLEAR DATA

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but not with clearing the cache.
I'll try that and report later.
And another note. I do have Battery Defender and Juice Defender installed, but both those apps were not running when I was testing the issue.
EDIT: Cleared cache, cleared data, force stop, uninstalled, reinstalled... still could not complete setup using data network even though I can see the H+ send/receive data traffic arrows light up when BBM tries to set up. Turned on wifi and logged in. Turned off wifi and was able to send/receive bbm via data network.
I'm letting my phone go idle now and we'll see what happens later in the day.

As mentioned in previous post, did the clear cache, clear data, force stop, uninstall, reinstall.
Stopped all battery saver apps.
Set up BBM via WiFi. Turned off WiFi.
Tested BBM and send various messages to a few contacts (can see it being sent using mobile data).
Left phone to idle.
After a while, BBM stops sending and receiving.

Any resolution to this problem yet?
I have installed BBM on Samsung S3 Mini via WiFi link, as application would not install through 3 G.Then switched over to 3G mobile data. It still worked fine for a couple of minutes. Phone was then left "idle" as previously described, and when BBM was used again, it would not function. Messages do not send or receive.
Is there any solution in sight or advise available?
