BBM sucking battery...how can I opt out of BBM?!

Hello everyone, could anyone please help me to delete or sign out from bbm?
I am a first time BlackBerry user and hence don't have much bbm contacts. Actually none. A few days before I signed up for BBM and since then my battery has been draining like crazy (45% battery usage by bbm out of 80% at one point) . Everything was so fine before that, I used to get a very good battery life and now this.

Hi @jafrii, if possible can you update BBM on your device and let me know if the issue persists? Version was relased yesterday. To update BBM open BlackBerry World, click My World in the bottom right corner followed by tapping Updates. Thanks!
