Malicious BBM accounts

Is it possible to trace the source of malicious/bogus BBM accounts? I,m told it can be done using IP address of the originator? I would assume that the Police would have to request this detail?

no, it is not possible. How are you going to get the IP address of this BBM contact?

And how is the BBM account malicious or bogus?

Re: Malicious BBM accounts

The account is malitious becaus it pretends to the account of someone that its not and is using that persons name to send malicious messages to others. Surely this can be traced somehow or else how do you stop this!!

Re: Malicious BBM accounts

You delete that contact if you don't want to see them.

If you feel there is some crime committted (identity threft, fraud, etc), contact your local law enforcement and report the matter and allow them to do their job. If they need IP addresses, etc., they will know what to do.
