Back up did not complete :-(

Hi

I purchased a Z10 yesterday and whenever I try and back up via Link it displays 'Back up did not complete'. I have however moved a film from my PC sucessfully.

Please help.

Thanks

Re: Back up did not complete :-(

Hey Sheppy,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for the question.

Click on Options in BlackBerry Link and put a checkmark for select data to include in your backup file and put a checkmark for Application Data only and try to do the backup.  If the backup succeeds then try the backup with 2 checkmarks and on-wards.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.

Re: Back up did not complete :-(

Thanks for the reply Sheppy.

We are going to need to gather some logs to further investigate this issue.  Please contact your network service provider and asked to be transferred to BlackBerry for further investigation.

Thanks.

Re: Back up did not complete :-(

Hi, I have the exact same problem as above.

This same problem, I believe also prevented me from transferring info from my old 9700 to the z10.

This has been very frustrating and time consuming.  I am not sure what solution you are offering to the above poster?  is there no way to contact blackberry directly to figure this out?

Re: Back up did not complete :-(

Hey Kshell,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for the question.

Do you have any groups on your BlackBerry Bold 9700?  Also did you have wireless contact synchronization enabled for Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail?

If either of those are yes then the contacts will not synchronize over.

For more information check out www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33578 and www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33523

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.

Re: Back up did not complete :-(

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

That is not really the problem. I cannot do a backup using BlackBerry Link. I have tried so many times and it failed every time.  There's nothing wrong with the cable as it syncs music ok, but no matter what I try it fails every backup attempt.

Same problem as the original poster.

Please help.

Re: Back up did not complete :-(

I'm having the same problem and from what I can see when you connect your BB to the computer (Windows 7) it tries to install the drivers to be able to recognize your BB but the installation does not complete successfully. I checked my computer's device manager and when my BB's plugged in, it shows up but with an error, I tried having the computer re-install the driver but it cannot find it. So is there a way to get the device driver and install it manually, thanks.

Cdennid

That is exactly what happens to me! I tried reloading the software, a different lead, another computer using Windows 7 etc...

Support, please help! In my case my network provider simply referred me back to you.

Thanks
