Can't install BB Link on server 2012 R2

[ Edited ]

As my iTunes is running as a server on a Server 2012R2 machine, I was thinking of also installing BB Link on this machine. But sadly it doesn't install properly. Well, it installs up to the moment where the services need to be started:

In the process of installing version 1.2.3.56 of the BB Link, an error message prompted [start  service BlackBerry Link Communication Manager (RIM Tunnel Service) failed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

Eeven though I'm admin of that box, the installer keeps stating that it can't start the services and claiming the user doesn't have enough rights.

I haven't tried on 2012 R2, but it might be similar to the solution I found on 2008 R2.

Re: Can't install BB Link on server 2012 R2

Hello,

It seems to work on 2012R2 as well, at least I can install the software now without errors. Thank you very much!
