Desktop to Link

I used to own a Bold 9900, making regular updates to Desktop. This phone got stolen and i purchased the new Q10, only learning then that the Q10 couldnt connect to Desktop.
Can someone pls explain how to transfer my backed-up data to the Q10, ie is there a way to transfer data from Desktop to Link without having the old device ?

Did you make a backup of your BlackBerry Bold 9900 using the BlackBerry Desktop Software's Backup and Restore feature?  If so, you can restore the backup using BlackBerry Link by following the last heading under Method 2 in the following article.
