Missing text messages after software update via bblink

Hi. I was receiving a lot of messages telling me about a software update and so I eventually decided to upgrade. I manually performed a backup of my entire phone using BBLink, and then updated the software (which automatically performed another backup).

When it came to restoring my data, everything was reloaded, except for my text messages. I tried restoring using different backup files, but I had no luck.

I work for myself and a lot of information is received via text, so I lost some important information when that happened.

Now I need to backup my phone again, but I need to know whether my texts are actually being backed up.

How do I tell? Or is there a way of exporting my text messages to my computer?
