SWITCHING FROM BB9700 TO BB Z10

Using Blackberry Desktop, is it still possible to switch from 9700 to Z10 without loosing contents, mails, Picutes, texts and contacts while equally moving ones PIN to the new device?

Re: SWITCHING FROM BB9700 TO BB Z10

The Z10 will only work with the new Blackberry Link, not Desktop Manager.

BB Link should be able to transfer your data. However, as the posts here and elsewhere show, it's by no means foolproof.

I sent my Z10 back because of it.

Hi icekanem,

This article will show you how to transfer your data from your BlackBerry 9700 to your BlackBerry Z10 using BlackBerry Link, however, PINs cannot be transferred between any devices as they are hard coded.

Re: SWITCHING FROM BB9700 TO BB Z10

This is like shooting with canons at canarys. I'd like a clear word if the same functionality as before (Outlook & desktop sync) will come soon. I switched to BB because of this - as I believed. It's no longer there. BB disappoints its long term customers as Nokia did. BB Z10 - pro, prosumer oder consumer gadget? "Lost" functionality can't be found in any specs - neither you nor Nokia didn't mention them.

Re: SWITCHING FROM BB9700 TO BB Z10

Hi, I have done all steps using BlackBerry Link swtich device option.

However, it stops when transferring data to new device.

I got an error message saying "Data could not be copied to your device due to the following errors:

- There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the device is turned on and connected.

My new device is on and connected properly.

Could someone advice how to fix it ?

Thanks,
