Re: backup & restore

The ipd file is for saving and restoring back to your BB if needed.

If you must convert and use the ipd files, you will need to purchase this application to do so...
Free download ABC Amber BlackBerry Convertor, convert, backup and archive IPD files to CHM, PDF, HTM...

Please update the result after applied..

Thanks

Re: backup & restore

, it is my understanding that a Link-created .bbb backup file cannot be opened/extracted from ABC Amber, if you have learned differently, please explain how?

ABC Amber has been able to extract from IPD files created from older versions of BlackBerry Desktop Software.

Re: backup & restore

I find backup and restore process takes so long right now ages longer than blackberry desktop software and the old system, anyway to speed this up and give us more options for both?

Re: backup & restore

True, it does take longer... you're backing up much more data as well.

I'd like it made quicker as well.

Re: backup & restore

Perhaps removing photos and videos first would make it go faster. Consider saving it on an SD card instead of the phone.

*groan*...

You can make your BB10 Link backup in three sections.

  1. Settings
  2. Media
  3. App Data

In Link, just choose Backup > Custom Backup and choose what you want.

You don't need to "remove" anything.

Then you can backup all, or each section separately.
