Backslash key

Z 10 has no backslash key. Well, I can't find it.
It's a necessary character, but Blackberry seemingly has never been bothered to include it.

I have a Gauntlet, a wireless, terabyte drive, which I find very useful, but it cannot be accessed, except for the set up page on the Z10. Other tablets and smartphones have an app if they are Apple or Android based.

Not the Blackberry, so the only way to access the folders is by using a network attachment, when the Gauntlet Wi-Fi is used. If I can't find a backslash, I can never connect and it's the same for my Playbook.

Anyboy aware of a practical way to use the browser or something else?

I see the "\" backslash (left leaning) on the keyboard.

  • Touch the lower left symbols key. [?123]
  • Just above that, Touch the seconday symbols key [&%]
  • The \ key is in the middle, about where the G would be otherwise.

Great, did that resolve this question?

Re: Backslash key

In one way, yes. In another, no. There isn't a Windows Explorer type of file manager in Blackberry smartphones/tablets that I know of. That means I cannot access a network file system as I can do with my laptop, when incorporating the wi-fi connection.

So, I shall keep the Gauntlet, because it works in Windows, and with Apple and Android mobile objects, mainly to allow my friends to access software and everything else.

The Seagate Wireless Plus should work with a Z10 and a Playbook, since it has a built in browser that tallies with its wireless set up. I have been waiting for one for over a month. Should arrive this week, and I shall advise if it works, or not.
