Custom notifications

Ok, simple task:

How do I set a custom notification tone for a meassage from a contact to be' silent'.

If I go into contacts, I can select edit then 'messages notification tone'.

It is set to 'default ring tone', then there is a list of every mp3 file on the device (over 1000 after moving my SD flash card from my old device) but there is no 'silent' or volume control.

I really need to set message notifications from a contact to silent, no sound, no vibration. This was easy on my Torch.

the Z10 behaves differently Smiley Happy
If I were you I would simplt create a 30s MP3 that is silent, and set it as the contact ringtone.

Re: Custom notifications

That's what I was planning to do.

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a way to search thru the mp3 files (ringtones), so you wind up having to scroll thru 100s oe 1000s of files to find the one you want.

I'll name the file '1111aaaasilent.mp3' so hopefully it will be at the top of the list.
