Keep getting notification to update to 10.1 MR after update was done

Hello all,

this is more of a nuance than a big problem. I updated my Q10 to the latest 10.1 MR (10.1.0.4181) but keep getting a notification in the hub to update. I am ignoring it but it keeps coming back. Any idea why or how to get rid of it?

Love the device and the software otherwise.

Cheers!

Hello Scorpio41

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Can you please confirm if you have deleted applications that were pre-installed with your BlackBerry Q10 smartphone?

I look forward to your reply

Re: Keep getting notification to update to 10.1 MR after update was done

It appears your issue could be related to the deletion of the Rogers applications. Please follow the below steps in order to help confirm the issue you are having.

1. Check for updates (Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates) or open the Software Update notification in the BlackBerry Hub, and note the version number.
2. Minimize the update window by swiping up from the bottom bezel.
3. On the home screen, swipe down from the top bezel.
4. Select Settings > About.
5. Choose OS from the Category drop-down.
6. Note the Software Release number.
7. If the version numbers from Step 1 and Step 6 match, the update may only be intended to install deleted applications and can be ignored. If the numbers differ, please proceed with the update.

Re: Keep getting notification to update to 10.1 MR after update was done

I've checked before and checked again now and the numbers do match. So am I supposed to keep getting these notifications and ignore them? That is annoying and should be fixed. What about future updates? Will this keep on happening?

The update consists of the apps and deleting them will prompt you to download them again in form of an update.
The updates will stop if you keep the apps on your device.

Re: Keep getting notification to update to 10.1 MR after update was done

But that is the whole point. I don't want some of the apps because I don't use them and don't want them to pointlessly take space on my device so I delete them. Constantly getting these notifications is annoying but I can live with it and prefer that to keeping the apps. However I do expect better from blackberry and really hope they solve this in future updates. I'm loving bb10 and cannot wait for the 10.2 update next month but really hope that this minor issue can be solved.
