Word Substitution - carriage return

Any way to add returns in Word Substitution?

It appears it only allows single line substitution and not multiple lines as with Legacy OS.

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

Yes, in a Word Sub edit screen, press and hold the right side SHIFT [^] key while pressing the return key.

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

Yep, works just as I described above, on the Z30.

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

Sorry J,

Since there is no Right Shift key on the virtual keyboard, I went to the numeric key pad that shows the ^ symbol and held it while pressing the return and then saved with no change? [The keyboard did close when I did that.}

Is that what you meant?

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

Hmmm just noticed I'm still on OS 10.2.0.1233...

Could that be it?

I thought I updated right after setting the device up for the first time last Friday.

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

[ Edited ]

ughhhh.. my bad.

LEFT SHIFT plus the enter/return key.

LEFT LEFT LEFT. Sorry.

Plus, I try to always stay right. Never left.

But in this case, LEFT SHIFT and the return key.

My Mama taught me left from right several decades ago and I still mess it up, lol.

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

Can't get this to work. I read that on the Q10 it only works with a Right Shift and of course the virtual keyboard doesn't have a Right Shift.

I pasted formatted text in and suspect that the Word Substitution field strips carriage returns?

It works.

Which device are you asking about, the Q10 or Z30?

Re: Word Substitution - carriage return

Z30 - I tried it several times with no carriage return being inserted afterwards.

Could this be an OS issue - Z30 10.2.0.262?

The input field is a single string and when I do the "Left Shift Enter" I don't see any change [space or special character inserted?
