BES 5.0.4 / Remove last Public Folder Database on Exchange 2010 SP3 / Impact on BES 5 ?

Hello together,

we have Exchange 2010 SP3 and BES 5.0.4.

Acutally we still have a Public Folder Database on Exchange 2010. But we plan to remove this Database.

As far as i know there is no used funcationality on our organisation with Public Folders.

Does it have any Impact for Blackberry Server 5 when we Remove the Last Public Folder Database on Exchange ?

For which functionality is Public Folder used in BES 5 ?

I read something about setting a registry Key (Ignore No PF) on the Blackberry Server if no Public Folder Database is existent. Is this neccessary ? What is happening when we don't do this ?

please advice what we have to look for ...

thanks,

Best,

Martin

why not set the reg key prior?

it used to affect Calendar items but with using EWS on 2007 and above it might not be an issue

There might be a problem even if you set the "Ignore No PF" Registry key. See this KB:

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB23867

So you have to make sure that there is no public folder store specified in the Exchange DB where BESAdmin lives.
