BES 5 / Exchange 2013 MAPI - understanding

Hello Guys,

we´re planning an new Server 2012 (R2) infrastructure in our Office, but I still have an understanding problem.

If we are install a Exchange Server 2013 there is no MAPI function on it. Does it mean, that we can´t install a BES 5, which connects via MAPI and it doesn´t compress the mails, respectively attachments?

We need this compression to minimize international roaming-costs.

Thanks a lot,

Dominik

Compress like BES 10 or lika BES 5? Without MAPI it isn't possible to look inside the Mail and resize it, isn't it?

If the compression is like BES 10 (outlook anywhere technology)  it is not acceptable for us.

[ Edited ]

instead of using MAPI it uses RPC/HTTP instead. Still processes the emails same as before.
