Good Afternoon. Our current policy rule allows users 5 incorrect password attempts. However password suppression is not active.
Going forward, we want to allow users to view the characters enter after 2 incorrect attempts. As per my understanding, we need to do the following:
1. Suppress Password Echo IT policy rule - Set to 'Yes'.
2. Set FIPS Level IT policy rule to 1.
By making the above setting active, after a given number of incorrect password attempts, the characters that a user types in the Password dialog box will appear on the screen.
Is this correct? If we want to keep the maximum incorrect attempts to 5 and allow the user to see the charater on thier screen after 2 failed attempts, what other changes we are required to perform?
Awaiting quick revert.

I would copy the IT policy, make the change and apply it to a test device or yours
I dont have a Java device anymore to test it.
