KB16182 - DST 2008

Hi there,

I'm kinda newbie into BES and stuff... and don't know what to do in this case.

I've received an email about this KB Article (KB16182), i've read the article and downloaded all these zips packages.

My doubts are:

1 - What if i apply this Cumulative Update from Microsoft ? The devices which are configured in my BES will update automatically?

2 - If devices won't update the time automatically, how i apply this patch in my BES?

Sorry for any dumb questions...

Thanks in advance.

Re: KB16182 - DST 2008

Applying the MS patch will not have any impact on your handhelds.  You need to apply the patch / change from RIM to impact the HHs / BES time.

If you read through the entire KB Article KB16182 - Daylight Saving Time Changes - Fall 2008 it should be self-explanitory.  What questions about the process do you have?  I guess I don't understand where your confusion is.

Re: KB16182 - DST 2008

Hi Andy,

Yeah it should be self-explanitory... lol

I don't know where i do get Update_for_CDO_6.5.7653.21-6.5.7974.0.reg . It's not available here: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/articles/416/KB15058_f.SAL_Public.html

And other question is, after applying this .reg file, i have to deploy the files within KB16182_f4.1.0+ Patch.zip to my handhelds?

Thanks,

Can I bang my head on the same desk that you're banging yours on?  I have no clue what the heck RIM is talking about with this reg file.  my assumption is that it is effectively what the patch from MS does, but I don't know.  Honestly, try giving TSupport a call and asking them what the heck is up.  sorry :-/

Re: KB16182 - DST 2008

LOL

I'm gonna try something here, as the DST update will be made manually (we're gonna update the time on our Domain Controller manually) I guess it's gonna change the time on BES though.

Well, thanks mate!
