Message replication failure

We have a BES server, Exchange 2003 and 10 BES users.

One of our users devices was reset and upon trying to reactivate and download his email he only gets two messages. One from Jun 08 and one from Nov 07. When using the BB desktop manager it will see the 10,000 odd messages he has in his mailbox but each time will only sync those two emails. Going forward he is now receiving new email.

Is there anyway to reset the BES account for this user so the system believes it has to dump the email down again? I would like to keep his statistics on the server but if it has to be a casualty then fair enough.

Many Thanks in advance

Re: Message replication failure

IIRC BES 4.1 SP2 introduced the ability to force pre-population on activation ... put in these reg keys ...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents]
"ForceMsgPrepopOnActivation"=dword:00000001
"ForceMsgPrepopDays"=dword:00000005
"ForceMsgPrepopMessages"=dword:000000c8

it wont force pre-population on ALL, only the last 5 days up to 200 messages. (you can modify up to 14 days / 750 messages)

You'll notice the values are in hex.

You won't get the 10k messages, but you'll get some.

Heck, upgrade to BES 4.1 SP5 and use HH OS 4.5 and you can use Remote Mailbox Search .  Greatest thing since sliced bread.

Know of any issus upgrading from 4.1.83 to 4.1.6?

I'll give it a go but as you can see we haven't done much with upgrading the software. Just hope it doesn't bomb!

Whats HH OS 4.5? THE BB OS?

Re: Message replication failure

4.1.83 does not exist; I think you missed a digit there.

Known issues? none.

HH OS = BB OS version 4.5

Re: Message replication failure

4.1 to 4.1 SP6 is a big upgrade.  Please be sure to follow: KB04882 - Best practices for installing a BlackBerry Enterprise Server service pack
