Migration Kit question

[ Edited ]

Is there a need to wipe / reactivate handhelds when using a migration kit from RIM?

Thank you,

CThomas

Re: Migration Kit question

I wanted to make sure that the following information is added:

Original BES users are on a remote SQL server

New BES users will be on a local (different) SQL server

Re: Migration Kit question

Think I found the answer...since the 2 BES will not share the BlackBerry Configuration Database then a wipe and reactivation will be required.

Re: Migration Kit question

Move to a new database with 4.x requires a wipe most of the time and an activation.

Why not do a knife edge cutover?

You can migrate to a new database with BES 5.0 using transporter.

Re: Migration Kit question

Indeed, I was looking at the BES Migration kit as well when I realized that a knife edge cutover was a much, much better option.
