OCS client 'chatter' when installed on BB

Envrionment: BES 4.1.6 w/ Exchange 2003

We are thinking of pushing out the OCS 2007 client to our handhelds, but I'm slightly worried this will massively increase our data charges!!

Does anyone know how the client works? Does it constantly speak with the Communications Web Server to give status updates, and does each Instant Message utilise a significant data packet?

Just don't want to roll this out and find out we are being hit for charges!

If it turns out that it will be expensive, then we may roll out to only those users that want it.

Re: OCS client 'chatter' when installed on BB

It talks only when messages are being sent, as far as I know there is no heartbeat.  It will obviously bring up data charges. Most these days though have unlimited data plans.

If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!
