Perfmon counters for BES 5.0.3

Hi

We are due to install a BES 5.0.3 server in one of our main offices. Whilst we add users to this BES, I'd like to monitor the server resources to ensure that we aren't overdoing things.

Could someone advise the best Perfmon counters are to use when dealing with BES? We'll be running on Windows 2008 Server.

Some questions:

i. Which server resource does BES use the most (RAM, disk I/O, CPU etc)

ii. BES has it's own application-level Perfmon counters too I believe, where I can find the values/thresholds for them?

iii. Is there any specific RAID type we should use for BES?

You should look at the BRK

iii. Is there any specific RAID type we should use for BES? Raid 1 at a min.

How many users do you have?

The manual does show min specs for a server.

Thanks knotty.

The IO on connections to Exchange is a resource hit on the Exchange server though isn't it? I meant a resource hit on the BES server itself?

My BES hardly makes my server sweat. I do have enough RAM though.

What Spec server do you have for it and how many users?
