I have a user who's message that are read in Microsoft Outlook do not show up as read on the handheld. It appears that his reconcilliation is setup correctly to me. The mailbox wins on any conflit and the wireless reconcile is on. Message are being delivered but are not show'n as read if they are read from Outlook. Any help on what I can take off the checklist to fix this issue would be appreciated.

As a start, it might not be a bad idea to test it in OWA if you can. This takes Outlook out of the equation and boils it down to the BES talking to the mailbox.

Sorry I forgot to mention that is how I am testing the users account. I am reading the test messages I send the mailbox via OWA. They are showing read in the mailbox and not read on the device. I am using Cached Exchanged mode. I have also gone to Under Options, Advanced Options, Service Books delete Desktop [CMIME] and Desktop [SYNC], and deleted that, and resent the service book via the BES server. As suggested in previous posts on this forum without any luck.

On the Handset:
Messages - Options - Email Reconciliation - Delete ON - Set to mailbox & handheld.
I'm not sure about cached Exchange mode though... That rings alarm bells for me for some reason....
Hopefully Bumplepie can shed some light on that...

Alright, Lets explain a couple of things first.
The reason that we asked about cached exchange mode, is that when you are in cached exchange mode, changes are replicated up to your mail database right away. When you are in online mode, basiclly as soon as it can, or preferances are set up for, your outlook will update itself. In cached exchange mode, the replication per say is not working on the like it would in online mode, which can cause read and unread marks not to work. Read through all of these yet?

Hmm....well if it's not working in OWA then something is definitely going on. Here's the million dollar question. If you read something in OWA and then hit Reconcile Now on the device, does it work?
Keep in mind that wireless rec can take 15-20 minutes to complete as well. Reconcile Now will force it.
