Recommended Setup to Exchange 2003

Hi Guys,

I am looking for some advice, on our domain we have 4 exchange servers, the user mailboxes are spread across two of these, one is used for public folders and the other is as yet not configured.

My question is which exchange server should I connect to when setting up the BES?  We have version 5.0.3 and the exchange version is 2003.

Should it connect to the one with the most mailboxes on or the one which has the lowest load across it?

Many Thanks

Re: Recommended Setup to Exchange 2003

Where will your BES users be?

Where is BES being installed?

how many users on each mail server?

What Raid are you using?

What are you IOPS for the database drives?

BES will hammer the users mailboxes with a 3.75 times more load than that of Outlook.

So best to spread the load on both.

i have run 125 (70 on BES) users with large 5-20 gig malboxes on a dedicated drive 15 k Raid 1 drive with out issue.

Its all about the IOPS
