Stolen Blackberry in BES..any solution for SIMCARD CHANGE

i has a question, i am the adminnstrator of the BES server, where i work.
What can i do is someone stole a blackberry device, and before sent the erase command
the thief change the simcard...

If there a patch or an aplication to avoid that, i know an aplication called simguard, that
appears to do that.

But it works in BES, someboy can suggest something.

A Killcommand is based upon the devcies PIN, not on the simcard.

If they are connecting a SIM Card to RIM network and getting ANY BB data then the device will get bricked....

And once the command is sent it will be tried for one week.

I dont know anything about SIM guard.

BES only sends wipe command once. RIM's network does the rest.

If you did not setup a new device for the user then a comfirmation will be sent back to BES.

But what if the new SIM doesn't connect to the RIM network? Will they be able to view the email info already in the handheld?

Re: Stolen Blackberry in BES..any solution for SIMCARD CHANGE

That's right. Changing a SIM card will not prevent the device from receiving the kill command as long as it meets the data service requirements. In a situation like this, it is always best to make sure you have a password policy that you and your users can live with.
