yes and no

BES will run for a while if SQL is down at all, but you wont be able to restart BES until SQL is up again.

running a daily backup of the database is needed, you can also cluster SQL if you want as well to meet a SLA

Re: Two Blackberry Enterprise Servers 5.0.3 Express in one Exchange 2010 Organization

I have manage issue with two DES servers and two BES admins.

Two Exchange Servers 2010, Exch01, Exch02

Two BES 5.0.3 Servers (BES01 and BES02) with two BES Admins Besadmin1 and Besadmin2

I setup that to manage Users on Exch01 by BES01 using Besadmin1 and manage users on Exch02 by BES02 using Besadmin2.

But the problem is: I can see all users (from Exch01 and Exch02) via any BES server.

When I add UserA from Exch01 to BES01 using Besadmin1 account everything is good, I can managed this user via BES01 Server, but if I open BES01 using Besadmin2 I can see UserA under "Create a user" menu.

Is it possible to manage users from Exch01 only from BES01 and users from Exch02 only from BES02?

Thank you

-- I prefer a remote SQL server and have both BES access it so you can move users between BES's

Can you point me to a document for this?  Thanks.

It is in the manual but not really stated., you can run multiple BES servers with one database up to 10000 users. 2000 max per BES server.

setup a remote SQL server, run createdb.exe whit proper BESAdmin permissions

install BES and point to the SQL instance

Install second BES to same SQL instance and repeat as needed for more BES servers.
