Unable to access the mailbox for this user

We had a problem with exchange, and had to repair our Information Store. After getting exchange running, I'm getting an
error on only some of the blackberry users.
Unable to access the mailbox for this user.

we're running Windows server '03 exchange '03 and BeS 4.0.6

I have tried deleting a user and re-adding them in blackberry manager, I get "Failed to add user "username" to the Blackberry Server. Unable to open mailbox for user.
The user's mailbox may have been deleted."

I have run IEMSTest and it said it was successful on all of the users.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Re: Unable to access the mailbox for this user

Are the permissions inherited?

Did you double check them?

When removing users did you remove the server data?

yeah, I checked the permissions and they all looked correct, and I ran the IEMSTest which I think is supposed to test if it can read and write to a mailbox with the bes admin account.

yes, I told it to remove blackberry data when I deleted the profile

Re: Unable to access the mailbox for this user

Hi,

When you add a user to the BES, the persons email is retreived from the Global Address List, which is set up on the Exchange server.

So if the GAL is failing then it points to an Exchange issue.

Check by doing this:

In outlook, click on the To field to bring up the GAL.

Search for the user and right click for properties.

Is the properties field populated or does it show an error? Is the user in the GAL? Are the GAl details correct?

If so then this ponts to an Exchange issue.

You may need to delete the users account from Exchange and recreate it....(not pretty)

Re: Unable to access the mailbox for this user

take the storage group offline then put back online and reboot BES.

Some times it needs a kick.
