What is BAS (Blackberry Administration Service)?

Hi all,

What is BAS? How  could I configure it?

I would like to know how I could distribute my application using BES, I have gone through the following link:

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB03748&sliceId=SAL_Pub...

But I am not getting clear with BAS, its a web tool (https://<server_name>/webconsole/app), <server_name> is the computer name which hosts BAS.

I am very poor at server communication, please let me know how could I do that?

What are the pre-requisites ?

Thank you,

Regards,

Re: What is BAS (Blackberry Administration Service)?

The Blackberry Administration Service is a web application you can use to manage user accounts; assign user groups, administrative roles, and software configurations and apply IT policies to user accounts; and manage servers and component instances in a BlackBerry Domain.

The BAS replaced Blackberry Manager in BES 5.0

You can open the Blackberry Administration Service in a browser on any computer that can access the computer that hosts the Blackberry Administration Service.

In order to push your application to hand helds you would need to setup an Software Configuration. Here is a KB detailing how to do so.
