When is an hour not an hour

okay maybe not the best title, but here is one I have not seen before but seems to make a strange kinda sense.

In the Caribbean using Cable and Wireless I set the BES, the Exchange and the Berries to Atlantic time and turned off DST update. So all the meetings in Ouchlook were now an hour off.  So I checked here, and I applied all the patches and checked all the times.

The secret my furry little Berry users is thus,  Atlantic time a/k/a AST is subjected to DST in Cananada.  So if you choose Atlantic time even if you uncheck the box on a windows machine the Berry which is not windows has no box to uncheck as does I guess their non windows time system.  So everything jumps an hour.

Select Caracas and all is well as they too have no DST.

Put that in your funk and wagnal, and how many are old enough to remember that expression. hehehe.
