Wireless deploy Sametime to Curve

I'm having trouble wirelessly deploying Sametime to one user.  The Application Status for this user says "Install Required". I have tried to "Assign Software Configuration" and "Deploy Application" several times over the last few days to no avail.

My BES is on version 4.1.5.  The end user has a curve (AT&T) I have used this particular Software configuration for many other Blackberries.  Just having trouble this this one.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Super

Re: Wireless deploy Sametime to Curve

Can you send a copy of the POLC log file from the BES logs to me at BBAndyDufresne@gmail.com?  I'll post any relevant data back here removing anything personally identifiable, but that log will indicate where the problem lies.

Re: Wireless deploy Sametime to Curve

You potentially need to grab a newer version of the device.xml/vendor.xml files for the BES. See the following KB on how to do this:

 http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB13589&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=177860694&stateId=0%200%2086712265

You can also accomplish this by installing the device software on the BlackBerry server but I am sure you could get creative and write a nice small batch program to fetch this file and apply it automatically with winscheduler.

Re: Wireless deploy Sametime to Curve

While that is certainly a possibility (device.xml update; vendor.xml wouldn't matter), without reviewing the POLC log and seeing the specific entries in the log indicating that the device.xml needed to be updated, this would be a wasted step.  I'm pretty sure BES 4.1 SP5 has a reasonably recent device.xml too

Re: Wireless deploy Sametime to Curve

I like doing troubleshooting the older fashion way where I eliminate all possible varibles before drudging through logs...I guess I am an old softy that way Smiley Happy

Re: Wireless deploy Sametime to Curve

30 seconds of looking through a log will tell you what the problem is; I prefer getting the right answer the first time.  I guess I just like being efficient.
