We have recently upgraded our Blackberry Server from version 4 of the product to the BES Express 5.0.2 product (as we are a small business and this best meets our requirements).
Since doing this, a number of our users have noticed what we think is quite a seriously problem with the reconciliation of e-mails when the device is offline (uncontactable) for a period of time. We have successfully replicated this on other BES 5.0.2 installations and are wondering whether this *feature* is by design or whether it is a bug.
If we have the device online and send 10 e-mails to it they all arrive in the inbox. If we then move this, or run any rules or filters the e-mails reconcile fine.
If we have the device offline and send 10 e-mails and then turn the device on they all reconcile to the inbox.
If we have the device offline and send 10 e-mails and then either move, or use a rule which moves these mails and turn the device back online they mails never appear on the device.
This is with the default folder redirection options, if we manually specify folders to redirect we get unreliable behaviour.
Would anyone be able to help us direct these comments to the appropriate team within RIM to look at? Reading the forums, redirection and reconciliation like this does appear to cause problems in the new release of BES.
