BES express 5.02 on Domino - install error 1723

so I'm trying to install a fresh BES express 5.02 instance on a Windows 2008 R2 server (64-bit) running Lotus Domino 8.5.1.  All the system pre-reqs were confirmed with RIM, so there should be no incompatibilities.  In the installation, I opt for running a SQL server 2005 express SP3 instance, which the installer package sets up fine.  However, once the BES for IBM Lotus Domino component starts to run, the process halts with the following error message:

"Error 1723.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

I've checked the Knowledge Base and I can't find any articles dealing with this.  I can't escalate to RIM support because its BES express and I have no support contract.  I can't escalate to support personnel, because that's me!!

Any ideas?  A million thanks in advance!!!   :  )

Re: BES express 5.02 on Domino - install error 1723

Any solution?  I have the same EXACT issue. Windows 2008 R2 64 bit Server, domino 8.5.1 fixpack 4.  I've installed the enterprise server many times without issues.  I plan on trying to uninstall then upgrade to 8.5.2 and reinstall BES.  Thanks,

Re: BES express 5.02 on Domino - install error 1723

I had the same problem and was able to get it working by dong the following...

Details:

BESD Express 5.0.2 - User is receiving error 1723 during installation

Resolution:

added the path of the domino server to the environment variables and then uninstalled both BlackBerry Server and Domino and reinstalled the software.

Hope that helps,

Michael

Re: BES express 5.02 on Domino - install error 1723

HI Micheal I did as what you recommended. 1) Uninstall Domino 2)Uninstall any leftover Blackberry Components 3) Modify Environment variables 4) Re-install Domino 6) Re install BES Express 5.02 The Error 1723 was gone. But I got this error after installation of the SQL Server 2005 "Could Not Open the ID File [C:\Program Files (x86)\Research in Motion\Blackberry Enterprise Server\Domino\Data\] This folder is non existent!. So I created the folder and copied my server and admin id files there. re-install the BES Express 5.02 and still got the same error. Any Advice?? Thanks!

Re: BES express 5.02 on Domino - install error 1723

The environment varable should be where Domino is installed. So depending where you installed Domino. I installed my under the IBM directory.  C:\IBM\Lotus\Domino, so point the environment variable to the domino location. I believe I set the environment varaible to both the program folder and data folder. C:\IBM\Lotus\Domino and C:\IBM\Lotus\Domino\Data, again it depends where you installed domino. Hope that helps.
