Hey Guys, i have looked around but cannot seem to find any help with this one.
We have a BES express server runnings on its own box, the SQL database is sitting on a second Main server.
We did a reboot of our main server following some maintance and now the BES dispatcher will not start.
Using the Server configuration tool the Test SQL server connection fails with unable to find SQL server.
I have tried restarting services and even both servers but no joy. Both servers can see and ping eachother.
Im getting several Errors in event logs for Dispatcher but this is the one with most information :
ConnectionItem::ConnectToDB: COM Error 0x80004005 - Unspecified error - Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server" - Description "[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied." - Command "ConnectionItem::ConnectToDB"

So it turns out that after a reboot a port went for a walk.
Just had to open a port on the main server firewall that was hosting SQL and eveything came back to life.
Firewall had an open port for BES but seemed to need a second one for SQL.
