BESX 5.0.2 MR1 calendar sync problem

After upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 MR1 OTA calendar sync isn't working any more.

Allmost all calendar entries are deleted from the blackberry device for all users. Less then 10 stay on the device.

Disable user & wiping device and recreating the user and activating the device will initialise the calendar with all entries. After a while ~2 hours from the initial 500 calendar entries only 10 are available on the BlackBerry anymore.

This happens to all 20 users connected to the BES server.

* No real errors in log files ( ...MAGT_01...txt )

* CDO Version 1.2.1 on Exchange and BES server.

* rights for BESadmin correct "Send As", "Receive As", "ms-Exch-Store-Admin"

* BESadmin local admin on BES server

* BES services are starting with BESadmin

Environment:

MS Exchange Server 2010 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2

BESX 5.0.2 MR1 on Windows Server 2003 R2

Thanks for your support.

Re: BESX 5.0.2 MR1 calendar sync problem

[ Edited ]

Hello,

i am also with my first Post here, because my search through the net wasn´t that successfull.

My Problem seems to be identical to CADCON´s.

I almost got the same Enviroment:

MS Exchange Server 2010 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2

(2 CAS/HT Server with LB, 2 MBX Server DAG Cluster)

BESX 5.0.2 MR1 on Windows Server 2003 R2

My view on the Problem is, that not all of my Users got those Problems.

My own Blackberry does the sync correctly.

But 2 Users reported this phaenomen. Also a new sync of the calendar on the device via "alt + RSET" will render a full calendar on their devices, but they seem to disapear again.

One User reported no further Problems after doing the resync.

I had this scenario working with 5.0.1 MR3 an no sync Problems before the Update.

Regards

Dirk

Re: BESX 5.0.2 MR1 calendar sync problem

Hello,

as Dirk wrote after resyncing the calendar with turning wireless sync off and on for some user it worked again - but especially for those with lots of calendar entries they disappear again after a while.

So for now there is no real solution for this and I'm wondering to downgrade ( or migrate down again ) to 5.0.1 and see if the problem still occurs.

We allready raised a case at our providers helpdesk but no answer from them, too.

Kind regards,

Sascha

Re: BESX 5.0.2 MR1 calendar sync problem

Hello,

I was just about to do the update because I hoped it would *fix* a problem with the calendar sync. Guess that would only have made it worse.

Could you please keep us up-to date here regarding the resolution (if any)?

Thanks,

Tobi

Re: BESX 5.0.2 MR1 calendar sync problem

Hello,

it seems that SP1 for Exchange 2010 had been the problem.

After applying the following changes to the besPolicy ( Throttling Policy )

* EWSFindCountLimit

* EWSMaxConcurrency

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB23949&slic...

and resyncing the calendar, sometimes with the option of purging all calendar data from the blackbarry with typing rset while Desktop in calendar options is selected, now for one day the calendar entries do not disappear any more, and *hopefully* will stay there for the future.

Thanks,

Sascha
