Cannot log into Web console after updating Java

I have Blackberry Enterprise Server Express version 5.0.3

I have updated Java, uninstalled the old version and installed a new version. Of course I have now realised that was a mistake!

On reboot these services would not start.

Blackberry administration server – application server

Blackberry administration server – Native Code Container

Blackberry MDS Connection Service

Any attempt to start the services in Services Manager they immediately stop.

I cannot load the web console. Users can receive email and synchronise but cannot access the Internet web pages.

No logs in BES folders as they do not start.

I have followed this solution here:

http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB14697&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&d...

To resolve this issue, make sure following registry keys are pointing to the correct JVM path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BAS-AS\Parameters\JVM Library

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BAS-NCC\Parameters\JVM Library

The correct BlackBerry JVM is found in C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.<X_XX>\bin\client\jvm.dll where X represents the version numbers.

Both BAS-AS and BAS-NCC started up ok after changing the registry settings.

MDS connection service does not.

I’ve then followed knottyrope’s response to this post

https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Enterprise-Server/Cannot-display-admin-console-BE...

and modified this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BAS-AS\Parameters\JVM Option Number 3

-Xmx1024m

by

-Xmx768m

Other things I've tried

I have rebooted the server several times with no affect.

Waited for 10mins before opening web console.

I’ve then started following this post

http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB24220&sliceId=2&cmd=displayKC&d...

In windows task manager BAS-AS.exe and BAS-NCC.exe hover around 26,000kb

Neither BAS-AS or BAS-NC are producing any logs.

What next?
