DBNS component not installed.

Recently installed Professional Server 4.1.4A and am getting the following error in the Windows Application Log...

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BlackBerry Messaging Agent SERVER1 Agent 1
Event Category: None
Event ID: 45058
Date:  8/3/2008
Time:  10:21:58 AM
User:  N/A
Computer: SERVER1
{StartNotifyThreadServer}: DBNS component not installed.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Re: DBNS component not installed.

You could install the DBNS ...

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1, install the database notification system.

  1. Copy the RimEsp.dll file to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Binn folder on the new Microsoft SQL Server.
  2. In Microsoft Query Analyzer, go to the Database\DBInstallScripts\SQLServer\4.1 folder on the installation media.
  3. Open the NotifyInstall.sql file and replace <_databasename> with the name of the BlackBerry Configuration Database.
  4. Run the script.
  5. Confirm that the Microsoft Query Analyzer displays the following message:

    Function dbo.xp_RIM_xxxx registered.

Or you can simply safely ignore the error; which is exactly what I would do as DBNS can sometimes cause more problems than it helps.

I would recommend ignoring it ...

Thanks Andy. I'll take you're advise and ignore it.
