Data usage Statistics - How to get from server

[ Edited ]

Hello,

We use BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express version 5 on a windows 2008R2 server.

We received an unusually high bill for data usage for one of our users (thousands of euros).

The provider explains that the user downloaded 1,7GB on his terminal through BB service, which the user denies.

In order to check whether this is correct I'm trying to get usage data stats from the server but can't find where and how to find this information.

All I can find from the administration service web interface is the number of messages exchanged through the server but this doesn't tell me how many bytes have transited through the server.

Is their any way to fetch this information from the server? If any one knows how to extract this information, please help.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hi..

For the Data Usage of the BB user you need to check the Bill that will be provided by the Service Provider... i think there he mentions the Prices for Calls and Data Seperately..

Thanks

Please update the result after applied..

Thanks

Thanks. That's exactly what we got but I don't trust the information.

It 's simply not consistent with usage history and user profile.

I'm looking for a way to crosscheck the provider's information from stats out of the BB server, if possible.

Hi. .

Yes we dont have any other option to trace the Data usage of the user from BES Server . . The Bill shows the user has used that much ammount of Data it could be wheter Youtube , Excessive Browsing or Apps that run over the Mobile Network ..

Thanks

Re: Data usage Statistics - How to get from server

Thanks again.

I checked the provider's bill.

The cost comes from National BB trafic. This is unusual and incomprehensible.

It's a pity that we have no way to check trafic from our server's end.

I'll have to take the device offline until we understand what happens.

Best regards

Re: Data usage Statistics - How to get from server

was the users battery being depleted fast?

if not then the carrier might have billed it wrong

I have surfed the internet, wwatched videos stream pandora and never hit that high with a BBOS device

Re: Data usage Statistics - How to get from server

Hi,

The user didn't report battery drainage or other such problems.

Data usage from the provider's detailed bill indicate that the user made heavy use of BB traffic for as long as 23:99:99. That's an unbelievable 24 hours minus 1 second! At other times usage extended over 23 hours. All this seems to indicate a billing error from the provider. That's the reason I need to prove them wrong so we don't incur undue amounts in the future.

Thanks
