Re: Remote Search Failed

Latest version is 6.5.8211. So by running 6.5.8153 wouldn't resolve the issue.

Re: Remote Search Failed

Has there been any resolve to this issue yet?  I have experienced the same issue running SBS2003 w Exchange 2003,  SBS 2008 w Exchange 2007, with the BESx running both on the SBS machine or on a seperate machine.

Please RIM we need a solution to this "known issue".  The suggested workaround of changing the search option to "on device" from "remotely" is not a very good work around if you're looking for an email prior to the activation of the particular handheld your using.

Anybody????

Re: Remote Search Failed

FIXED!: I uninstalled and reinstalled “Messaging API and Data Objects 1.2.1” but when I tried reinstalling, gave me an error message saying "Cannot be installed with MS Outlook". So I uninstalled Outlook and installed Messaing API and remote searching works now.

Re: Remote Search Failed

For Exchange Server 2003 with SP2:

The following errors are logged by the BlackBerry Alerter:
- MAPIMailbox::CreateRemoteSearch - SetSearchCriteria (0x80040106) failed
- HandleSearchRequestCommand: CreateRemoteSearch failed, SearchId=....

As per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957593 it seems that older versions of MAPI raise this error (0x80040106 - MAPI_E_UNKNOWN_FLAGS) because they do not recognized the supplied NON_CONTENT_INDEXED_SEARCH flag.

I've installed this hotfix to update MAPI http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959897 and the problem was solved!

P.S.
A better sollution would have been to make BES use the Full Text Index if available for the mailbox store.
If anyone knows how to do that please reply.
