I have no file cdo.dll on the Exchange 2010, is it normal ?

You need CDO installed on the BES server. Is BES installed on exchange?

Looks like a send as issue. Here is a good amount of info on it.

Re: one-way wireless calendar synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook

I've got exactly the same issue with Exchange 2010 having just upgraded to BESx 5.0.3.

No CDO.dll on the exchange server, all BESadmin persmissions are correct.  It worked fine up until the upgrade.  I did have problems some time ago with the same issue on the earlier version of BESx and removing the Mapi profile from the registry and reinstalling the MAPI client worked, however, not this time.

I'm out of ideas....

Re: one-way wireless calendar synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook

Hello,

hello,

I think it's possible to manage calendars functions without cdo.dll and with Exchange Web Services.
See this KB : http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB20157

[ Edited ]

Cheers arf.

I've had some success with this.  Odd that we didn't need it for the previous version though.

Anyway, I ran through the procedure and it totally killed the BESx in that everything stopped working.  Basically, it stopped talking to the exchange server. After some head scratching and franctic reading through the manuals, I decided to reapply the 5.0.3 update.  This solved the problem.  Messages came back online and even the 2 way calendar sync started working.

Only thing is now, I'm not sure if the BESx is connecting using CDO or EWS.  Is there a way to check this? Just would like to know for future reference.  Cheers guys.

Re: one-way wireless calendar synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook

Hello,

Normally you disabled the use of cdo.dll in the step 5 of the KB, Have you did this ?
In the MAGT log file, did you have any entries like : CDO profile created BES_CDO_4496_12.

Thanks

Re: one-way wireless calendar synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook

I did initially but after the whole thing died I reverted to a previous snapshot of the machine. (it's a hyper-v machine)

So from the MAGT log I don't have that entry but I do have CDO.DLL c:\prog..etc.etc. So it looks like it's actually working without using the EWS method!

Re: one-way wireless calendar synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook

so ? It's working without EWS ?

I wonder if i should update to 5.0.3 (i have 5.0.2) .

Maybe it will be resolved the problem ?

Is it simple to update the BES ?

Re: one-way wireless calendar synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone to Microsoft Outlook

It looks like it in my case.

The 5.0.3 install is a wizard install, so it's pretty painless..  Just make sure you're logged in with the BESadmin account.

You can dowload it from here
