Allow user to set "days of synchronization"

Greetings!

I'm new to all of this, so please excuse this maybe dumb question. I'm also from Germany so please excuse my writing, too

So: My company is using BES 10.2 and we have about 200 BB User. Our e-mail profile is set to 30 days of synchronization (the next higher setting would be "no limit"). Now the problem, we are struggling on: Some of them want to have all their mails on their device. Others are satisfied with our current e-mail profile. Setting the profile to no limit for all of our users isn't an option (they complain about too long access times to the work space -.- would have them too, if there were about 2 GB of mails in one single folder... but that's off the topic). Long story short: Is there a possibility to allow our users to set the days by themselves? Because the e-mails settings are all grey and not changeable so far.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Allow user to set "days of synchronization"

have you looked at email profile in BAS?

IIRC if you set it to 30 days, then user gets a choice. Set to no limit means no choices but all.

maybe you need to make a second profile to allow users a choice.

Re: Allow user to set "days of synchronization"

BAS? You mean BES, don't you?

If so, yes I have. The days are set to 30 days. I've borrowed a Q10 from my colleague to check that.

Still greyed out...

We have two profiles. Tried everything possible to make this setting available for his BB, but it failed.

I set up a test profile too, to play around a little bit, but no success either

Any other ideas?

Re: Allow user to set "days of synchronization"

remove workspace from device, then assign the new profile to test user and activate

once mail profile is set, you can only change it with a new activation

Is it an option to create 2 email profiles?

One set to "no limit" and the other to "30 days"?

Then you can provide the users with the profile that fits to their needs.

HTH

PS:

BAS is the BlackBerry Administration Service. One component of the whole BES10.

Good morning!

I think we talk past each other. We want our user to make this change on their devices by themselves. What you mentioned kbe would be an easy option, but our boss don't want "extra work".

The only option that will satisfy him would be the one above.

To knotty: Tried it. Now we have several email profiles with different days. Still no possibility to change the days in the phone properties.

Sorry fot the circumstances

Re: Allow user to set "days of synchronization"

so you removed existing work space and applied the new profile after?

Greetings!

Any new ideas so far? Or shall I assume this problem as not solvable?

Re: Allow user to set "days of synchronization"

Good Morning!

Still no ideas, how I could solve this task?

So then this thread can be closed.

Thanks
