BB 10 not supported at my work

Thought I would pass this message along, a response from our IT dpt when I asked if I could BYOD with my fantastic new Z10...

Hello Paul,

Unfortunately the Blackberry z10 runs the new blackberry 10 operating system and there are no plans to support it.  As we currently do not have to pay licensing for our current Blackberry setup, in order to support BB 10 we would incur additional costs.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

What do they currently use for BES? if Express then BES 10 wont be free but will be about 100 per user or less if bought in bulk.

If they currently have a full BES, they can trade up their bought CALS for BES 10 CALs for free.

if they support Exchange Active Sync, you can connect with that for free

Re: BB 10 not supported at my work

It's short-sighted IT departments like this that make us all frustrated. I have similar issues with my IT department. We are still on BES 4.1.7. We do have ActiveSync so I have connected it that way. If your company has iPhones then you can most likely (no guarantee) connect your Z10 that way. That's what I have done but it is considered a "rogue device" by my IT department and they don't support it.
