we just set up a fresh BDS 6.2 install and tried to connect two Playbooks (v. 18.104.22.1686).
(No Z10 available here yet). The playbooks connect from a public WIFI network (internet).
Activation is successful and the account is added on the playbook and the playbook visible in BDS.
I can use the work browser to access my intranet.
But ActiveSync does not work.
When I view my work account it says "not connected".
After saving some changes, it says "the server owa.xxx.xxx for account (my email - my email) is not responsing..."
I can access this server from the BDS-server.
I can also access this server via the work browser on the playbook.
Looking into the MDS logfile, I find nothing unusual.
It even shows the successful connections in the MDAT logfiles.
The only warning message in the MDAT logfile is regarding a missing webserver.keystore file at the beginning of the logfile (created during MDS start).
Any other logfiles we can check?

If I configure the playbook to connect to ActiveSync without SSL, access is forbidden (ActiveSync requires SSL).
So it definitely connects to the server.
I suspect something regarding SSL and certificates.
We use our own SSL-Root-CA.
This CA has been added to CACERTS (in java_home\lib\security for both x86 and x64 environments).
Anywhere else, I have to add this Root-CA?

We created a new CAS server and with this one it works fine.
Also with SSL.
Still remains to be seen why it doesn't work with the original production servers (uses F5 load balancer, etc.) but this can wait a little longer.
