BES Log Files

When setting the "Maximum age of daily log files" does it also purge the assocaited folders that the log files are dumped into?  Or do you still need to run a script of some sort to purge both the log files and their assocaited folders?

Re: BES Log Files

Good question

I never even looked since I keep all the logs. Running a 160 gig for it has its advantages.

I have still gone back months later to scour logs for issues. Best thing is to compress them to you can keep them longer.

Look at this post to zip them.

Re: BES Log Files

I have a script that runs every day that purges anything older than 15 days; this includes getting rid of the folders themselves. I guess I'm just surprised that this setting in the BES would not also remove the log folders themselves and not just the logs inside of them. I also run another process that archives off all of the log files, so I really don't need to house and keep them locally.
