BES10 Client on Apple devices - Do I need an AppleID?

Hi,

We are looking to provision iPad devices for our users, not in a BYOD style but we will be providing them. They are corporate users who do not have an AppleID nor do they have a credit card.

How can we get the BES10 Client onto the device to activate it?

Thanks

David

That's dissappointing, this will probably make Apple devices incompatible with our organisation as there is no way to get an AppleID without a credit card which we don't have.

You can create an account with the creditcard info and remove it afterwards with itunes.... not the best way anyway

Re: BES10 Client on Apple devices - Do I need an AppleID?

If you attempt to purchase a free app through iTunes (on a PC or Mac) and are not already logged in with an iTunes account, it will give you the option to create a new account and one of the payment options will be "None". You can select this option to create an account that can be used to install the BES10 client on corporate devices.

After the BES10 client is installed, you can logout of the iTunes account on the device. Note that users will be unable to update the app since they won't know the App Store ID or password.

Re: BES10 Client on Apple devices - Do I need an AppleID?

Hi,

Good point, that did work and I didn't need a credit card. We remove the app store anyway via Policy so no updates is fine. If they need an update they can bring it back in.
